Course Overview

This two-day IICRC certification course will teach you all the techniques necessary to become a successful upholstery and fabric cleaner.

You will learn how to test and inspect each fabric to determine your safest method of cleaning.

This course has been approved for (14) IICRC CECs.

What You'll Learn

The UFT course covers upholstery fiber categories, fiber identification and testing, manufacturing of the fiber and fabric, the chemistry of cleaning, methods, protections, spotting, and potential problems. Participants will learn:

  • How to test for the correct cleaning method
  • How to select the proper chemicals and cleaning equipment
  • The inspection process that can eliminate complaints
  • How to clean bleeders and sensitive fabrics
  • How to test for polished cotton
  • When dry cleaning is the right choice
  • What the codes S, W, and X mean
  • How to recognize, prevent and solve difficult problems

Who Should Attend

The IICRC Upholstery and Fabric Cleaning Technician (UFT) course is designed for carpet cleaners or restoration professionals who also offer carpet cleaning services. Whether you're new to professional fabric and upholstery cleaning or looking to hone your skills to take on new upholstery challenges, this class is a great choice.

IICRC Certification

To earn certification, students must pass the certification exam, which is available for an additional fee paid directly to the IICRC.

Students must visit www.iicrc.org to register online and submit the exam fee prior to or on the first day of class.

Please keep a copy of your payment confirmation or have the means to log in at the end of the scheduled class to report to the instructor once exam registration is complete. You will need to provide proof of registration to complete the exam on the last day of training. Please contact the IICRC with any questions regarding this process.

All class fees must be paid via credit card at the time of registration. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. 

If you have already registered for a class and want to add more students to your group at a later date, follow the steps below:

  1. The primary registrant in your group must login to the class/event site.
  2. Click on ""Already registered? Login Here!" followed by "Welcome Back! Modify Your Registration Here!"
  3. Click on "Modify Group Registration" at the top of the page and skip to Step 5 to add more students to your group.
