Course Overview

This one-day seminar will teach you how to salvage and restore property damaged by a variety of odors, including smoke, water, pet problems, cigarette smoke, cooking, skunk, dead animal and bacteria.

You will be given techniques that will allow you to help your customer without causing them any embarrassment. You will learn the principles of deodorization, the chemicals, equipment and procedures used to permanently remove odors.

This course has been approved for (7) IICRC CECs.

What You'll Learn

The OCT course covers olfaction and odor, odor sources, detection process, theory of odor control, equipment, chemical options, and applications. Participants will learn:

IICRC Certification

To earn certification, students must pass the certification exam, which is available for an additional fee paid directly to the IICRC.

Students must visit www.iicrc.org to register online and submit the exam fee prior to or on the first day of class.

Please keep a copy of your payment confirmation or have the means to log in at the end of the scheduled class to report to the instructor once exam registration is complete. You will need to provide proof of registration to complete the exam on the last day of training. Please contact the IICRC with any questions regarding this process.

All class fees must be paid via credit card at the time of registration. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. 

If you have already registered for a class and want to add more students to your group at a later date, follow the steps below:

  1. The primary registrant in your group must login to the class/event site.
  2. Click on ""Already registered? Login Here!" followed by "Welcome Back! Modify Your Registration Here!"
  3. Click on "Modify Group Registration" at the top of the page and skip to Step 5 to add more students to your group.
