Class Overview

The IICRC Contents Processing Technician (CPT) certification is designed to provide an education for technicians in the practice of contents recovery and processing from loss events such as fire, water, mold, and trauma scenes.  This certification covers the best practices of contents processing, including inventory, documentation, storage, and pack-back methods for cleaning. 

 

Upon achieving certification, technicians will be prepared to work as an efficient and effective part of a contents recovery team and have the essential knowledge base to perform and document typical residential or commercial restoration projects involving contents processing from start to finish.

  • Cleaning science, deodorizing, post-cleaning evaluation

  • Estimation and invoicing 

  • Customer etiquette and client communication 

  • Efficient workflow and crew responsibilities

Meet Your Instructor

Rudy Alford

Rudy Alford worked for a large franchise firm in the Metro Atlanta area for several years and has a desire to assist others in the cleaning and restoration industry. Rudy had already taken many certification courses over the years before he decided to enter the world of training. He was an accomplished instructor teaching morals and ethics classes for insurance agents and adjusters before becoming an IICRC approved instructor. Rudy has taught thousands of students while traveling coast to coast in the USA and internationally in Australia. He is an IICRC certified triple master and also serves on IICRC Technical Advisory Committees (TAC) for the contents packing and moving certification course, which is under development.

IICRC Certification

To earn certification, students must pass the certification exam, which is available for an additional fee paid directly to the IICRC.

Students must visit www.iicrc.org to register online and submit the exam fee prior to or on the first day of class.

Please keep a copy of your payment confirmation or have the means to log in at the end of the scheduled class to report to the instructor once exam registration is complete. You will need to provide proof of registration to complete the exam on the last day of training. Please contact the IICRC with any questions regarding this process.
