This comprehensive 1-day program is designed to help business owners, managers, and marketers in the disaster restoration industry how to Build Wealth, Market Dominance, and Freedom through innovative Marketing, Sales, and Employee Engagement techniques.
Throughout the program, your instructor Ivan Turner will pull back the curtain and reveal trade secrets for building a successful restoration company based on personal experiences from decades of “down in the trenches” work in the Insurance Restoration Space. You will not get pie in the sky, big talk from a self-promoting marketer who teaches marketing and sales based on theory, but rather a wealth of useful information and proven strategies based on years of trial-and-error and tens of thousands of dollars of investment in discovering Best Practices.
Upon completion of “Breaking the Code to Scaling,” attendees will have:
- A clear understanding of the size of your market in dollars and where you stand in the market share compared to others.
- A marketing plan and strategy to scale your business in record time.
- A plan for transforming from average to a highly visible provider of services by getting the media to promote your business at no cost to you.
- Readiness to return to the business and begin implementing the marketing plan the very next day.
- A solid plan for gaining a competitive advantage in your market area through effective sales and closing techniques.
- An employee onboarding process that will set you apart from the competitive pack.
Bonus! Ivan Turner will spend ample time in demonstrating effective sales calls and proven closing techniques, showing you how to overcome objections through role-playing with attendees. Ivan will share one of his best closing techniques for insurance agents that is worth 10 TIMES the cost of the class alone!
Each attendee will receive an assortment of professionally created documents that can be customized for your unique operation. Collateral material includes:
- Editable CE Course to serve as a foundation for building your own program
- Planning outline for hosting a CE program
- Editable Administrative Manual
- Sample business plan designed specifically for the disaster restoration space
- Editable Employee Onboarding Program that will work for companies generating between 1–10 million dollars in revenue.
- Multiple press releases which can be used in their own marketplace.
This course has been approved for (7) IICRC CECs.

"I definitely learned a great deal!"
Just a quick email to thank you for the past two day class on Marketing and on boarding. The information you provided was very helpful and to the point. I definitely learned a great deal and would recommend the class to anyone in the restoration business. Thank you again!
"I will use your formula"
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. I will use your formula to better our company.
"I learned a lot"
Thank you again for the training class...I learned a lot. It definitely gave me several things to think about with my business.
"We will succeed"
I just wanted to thank you for the class a couple of weeks ago-Breaking the Code. It was very enjoyable and informative. We have begun to include much of the information into our marketing program as we prepare to hire a full time marketing person. It’s just not real easy to find just the right person. But we will succeed.
Ivan has written comprehensive how-to books Marketing to Agents & Adjusters and Marketing to Plumbers. Ivan has been featured and published in Millionaire Blueprints and ICS Magazine, CleanFax and R&R, co-authored 101 Ways to Successfully Market You Restoration Business During the COVID-19 Pandemic and is the published author of I Broke the Code, So Can You! “The story of one man’s rise from obscurity to a place of prominence in the cleaning & Restoration Industry”.
What can I do to prepare for the class?
Come with an open mind. Many of the strategies and sales approaches shared during the course may be new to you. The most important thing for you to remember is that I am here to support you and champion your success.
If at all possible, please read over the manual before the class starts. You will be sent a Power Point slide deck along with several other documents that you should complete prior to the class. Many of the slides have questions that should be answered before or during the class. Please have the slides with lines for answers printed and ready for class. There is a lot of information packed into a 2-day class. If possible, it’s better if you please print off your manual. This makes it easier to take notes. Please have pen and highlighter handy during the class to be able to take notes.
Can I ask questions during the class?
Absolutely! Please have your questions ready. We do a great deal of sales call role playing during the class. If you have questions regarding sales, marketing, and scaling, how to hire, train and retain employee please send them to me before the class, and if possible, we will discuss them during the class. Remember that this is not a technical-related class. This is a course designed to take an average company and transform it into a Powerhouse!
What are the technical requirements for the course?
Zoom is the video conferencing program that we'll be using and therefore it is required to have Zoom installed ahead of the class along with a solid internet connection. You will need to have functioning audio & video (microphone and webcam) to participate.
How does IICRC Certification work?
The IICRC website offers the most up-to-date information. Please check out their FAQ about online classes.
Is there a dress code for the course?
No. However, because the course is packed with so much information, I do ask that you observe the basic housekeeping guidelines: Please tuck yourself away in a quiet area without distraction and place your mobile device on silent during the course. There will be plenty of breaks to take care of business.
Do I have to do TPA and Program work to scale my restoration business?
No! Many restorers have scaled their business with never having done Program work.
As an Independent, I feel like the insurers are trying to squeeze me out of the game. Am I going to survive long term, or are we doomed?
Is the future of the independent disaster restoration owners doomed? Absolutely not and don’t ever let anyone tell you otherwise! The independent simply must be more creative in Lead Generation, better at Lead Conversion and most importantly offer an unparalleled Customer fulfillment process.
As a restorer, should I be chasing regional and national catastrophic events?
Yes and No, depending largely on how strong your home base is. We will discuss in detail the pros and cons in chasing CAT work.
I am having difficulty in getting applicants to respond to my help wanted ads. Is there any way to get people to want to work again, or is it time for me to start the exit process?
There are throngs of men and women wanting to go back to work. Your mission is to build a company worth staying at and one that allows the employees to feel needed, wanted, and appreciated. That’s why the second day of the course is all about building an employee onboarding process that will ease the day-to-day frustrations associated with hiring, training, and retaining employees.
