Class Overview
Our three-day water restoration class offers you a large variety of teaching methodologies to learn and ask questions. You will be learning the most up to date mitigation and documentation techniques from an instructor who has many years field experience and who is still currently active in the field.
What You'll Learn
- Water Damage Principles: Understand the different types of water damage, including clean water, grey water, and black water, and the appropriate remediation strategies for each.
- Psychrometrics: Learn the science of drying, including how temperature, humidity, and air movement interact and influence the drying process.

Moisture Detection and Monitoring: Understand how to use moisture meters and thermal imaging tools to accurately detect moisture levels and monitor the drying process.
- Microbial Growth: Learn about the potential for mold and other microbial growth in water-damaged environments and how to prevent it effectively.
- Health and Safety: Understand the health and safety protocols necessary to protect workers and occupants during the restoration process.
- Restoration Techniques: Explore various techniques for water extraction, drying, and dehumidification, as well as strategies for restoring affected materials.
- Documentation and Reporting: Learn how to properly document water damage and restoration efforts to ensure accurate records for insurance claims and future reference.

Meet Your Instructor
Dustin Resendiz
Dustin started in the restoration industry in 2011 working as a water technician with a large franchise organization and quickly worked his way into supervisory positions. He then went to work with a privately owned restoration firm as a co-owner and manager of the mitigation department. Dustin worked on residential losses of all types and commercial losses including some large clients like FedEx and Amazon. His experiences in the industry include everything from water, mold, reconstruction, and remodeling. Dustin formed his own full-service restoration company in 2017 which has been quite successful. Dustin is an IICRC instructor in both English and Spanish.

After enrolling you will receive detailed instructions to prepare for the class including access to the course welcome packet that needs to be printed prior to class.

IICRC Certification
To earn certification, students must pass the certification exam, which is available for an additional fee paid directly to the IICRC.
Students must visit www.iicrc.org to register online and submit the exam fee prior to or on the first day of class.
Please keep a copy of your payment confirmation or have the means to log in at the end of the scheduled class to report to the instructor once exam registration is complete. You will need to provide proof of registration to complete the exam on the last day of training. Please contact the IICRC with any questions regarding this process.
